Keira Grace
Keira Grace was born on Friday, October 12th at 8:23am. She weighed 7lbs 5oz and was 20.5 inches tall. She's absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. The C-Section went very smoothly, which leaves me with nothing exciting to tell about!
That is all.

RE: Keira Grace
Awww! She is gorgeous! How was it having a planned c-section? When I had Anna, it was more of an emergency one after 14 hours of induced labor, and the recovery time was over 2 months before i could do much semi pain free. It was terrible, so I'm a bit anxiosu abotu having to do it again.. feel free to pm me with the gory details.. thanks! and congrats again!

She is so adorable. Congratulations!!!!!
If I may show my ignorance, why would you have a planned c-section?

Jamie and Charlene are the best people that I have never met.
I couldn't ask for better friends (even if some people think they are imaginary).

I can't speak for everyone, but after having Anna as emerg, the chance for a successful reg birth is only 60%.. tome thats just not high enough a success rate, there is a chance of the old scar re tearing during labor, as well as the ones inside. I'll have one as well, just so I don't have to go through the labor and all.. even with a bit of fear, it's not as scary to me as an epesiotomy.
Yay again! How are you feeling Apryl? Are you home yet?

RE: Keira Grace
Cool. Thx. I wasn't trying to pry or get personal, I was just wondering what reasons existed to make someone have a c-section instead of normal birth.

Jamie and Charlene are the best people that I have never met.

I had a planned c-section because I had a c-section with Ethan and my hospital doesn't do VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean). However, I wouldn't want one anyway.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet! It is taking me forever to get caught up on everything! My MIL has been here for the past week and I haven't really gotten the chance to do anything on the computer because of a new baby AND company. LOL She's going home tomorrow though so I should be able to get caught up on some stuff!
I'm feeling great. This C-Section went just as smoothly as my first one. I had an emergency section the first time as well (breech baby) so I opted for a second section. It was so weird knowing that I'd have the baby the next day and it was almost surreal and methodical going to the hospital, checking in, prepping for surgery, etc. I had a spinal block the first time and I had a lot of back pain. This time I had an epidural and it was much easier. I was up and walking around the same day as the surgery and to me the worst part was the catheter. I could have gone without that. I had a relatively quick recovery time with both of my sections. I've been up doing laundry, etc. already. I haven't had to take any pain pills the last two days. For me, the hardest parts are getting up and down. I get my staples out tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it.

RE: Keira Grace
That is for all the women of this board.
If it was left up to guys like me to give childbirth, after reading the stuff like in this thread....well our species would go extinct.
Once again, thank you for the explanation about the c-section, and I'm glad everything worked out ok.
