  Halloween, Turkey day & Holidays...

What is everyone doing for the holidays this year? Anyone do anything crazy for Halloween? Traveling for holidays?

One year I want to spend a Christmas in New York.. Or New years for the once in a lifetime craziness it must be over there... Anyone ever go for New years?

Halloween is one of my fav holidays but since I'm old now it seems so gay to really do anything... Last years party (birthday/halloween) topped anything we could ever do in the future.. Too old to go to clubs but parties are a lot of work...

This year for Halloween I'll be taking Ethan (who is 4) trick-or-treating. He is insisting on being a witch this year (so far) even though I've tried endlessly to explain to him that boys are wizards and girls are witches. He apparently doesn't care so I guess I'll let him be a witch while he's still young enough to get away with it. Maybe I can dress the baby up as something really cute.

We'll have a new-ish (lol) baby this year for Thanksgiving and Christmas so I'm sure our families will be fighting over us.

I'd rather be in New York... haha!~

The Women's Studies minor in me must comment....Ethan will be fine. We have a hard time letting our boys do things that are more "girlish" than letting our girls do things that are more "boyish." I am sure if a girl wanted to be a wizard, it wouldn't be as difficult to deal with. When I was taking my gender studies classes, my son was going through an "I like Pink" phase. I was a tad freaked (I am now very embarrassed by this). However, after going to his 3rd grade class and working on a project in which half the boys in the class chose pink as one of the colors they wanted, I shut myself up. It's so important that we let boys explore the same way we let girls explore.

I am very happy you are letting him be a witch. He'll look cute, and you'll be the very hot, very hip, progressive mom

I love Halloween. It is my very favorite. As with last year, it will probably involve thermal underwear under my clothes, but that's okay. I have fabulous memories of many Halloweens, pre-child and with child...lol.

I want to dress up this year, but probably won't do much of a costume unless I have a party. Which would involve me cleaning up my basement and making it spooky. So I'll have to see how motivated I become. 6 years ago my now-husband told me he loved me on Halloween night while we were taking my son trick-or-treating. So now it's a sappy day too!

Turkey day will involve too much food and wine. And I am having religious issues this year, so I cannot even think about Christmas.......except that now my son is old enough that I can celebrate the Norwegian way which is on Christmas Eve versus Christmas Day. We started last year and it was alot of fun. I wish I could be on the beach this year, I guess I have to keep playing powerball.

Halloween will be pretty sedate again this year, although I am lookingforward to trick or treating this year with Anna, and showing her all the sights in the neighborhood with everythine dressing up and decorating. We are dressing her up as a ladybug, since onew of the favorite stories has to do with ladybugs and I'm sure she'll be a princess soon enough under her own preference, so may as well dress her up what I want while I can.

Thanksgiving and Christmas will probably be alot of driving between here and the n laws. Jamie's parents finally retired and moved up this way over the last month. They live about an hour ish away from us now, so we'll probably head over there for dinner on thanksgiving, and in the morning on Christmas Day. Haven't ironed all the details out quite yet though.

This reminds me of the Rosanne episode where DJ dressed as a witch and Dan tried so hard to convince him not too..

funny episode.

My daughter wants to be a zombie.. what a freak i've created!

Nothing planned for Halloween since I will be moving to Bama in the last days of October...

but like i said Mia wants to be a zombie ... i will still allow her to dress up even if we do nothing.

The holidays are going to be tough. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday... but the timing is the issue. I am hoping that we will be able to drive down to visit my/my hubby family.

X-mas for sure we will be spending at home in BAMA.

.. as i said the holidays are going to be soooo hard.

This year is up in the air for my holidays.. So many changes.. It's sad.. It will be just me and the girls since getting the divorce cuts out the other family.. I only have my dad down here.. Girls will be only with me for one day then they go with their father so I will be alone again. Last year was so hard.. It's devastating to be alone during the holidays.. for me at least!

My friends and i are most likely going to take our nieces and my perfect cousin trick-or-treating, though it might sound lame it's actually pretty fun lol =) dressing up as a geisha should be fun ha ha

For Thanksgiving they made it so we start school early in turn for getting a whole week off for that week, so I'm going to be sleeping, talking it up with family which should be fun, and just relax

For Halloween my plan is to carve a pumpkin! I wanted to have a party, but I don't have too many friends in Oh-Hi-Ya so I don't know if that will work out. But I have my heart set on dressing up as a naughty pirate wench. hehehe.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are completey up in the air this year. I may be moving before then so I'm not making any plans. Either way, I will be at work by 6am the day after thanksgiving and I will work xmas eve, so won't be doing anything to exciting. Oh, the perks of being a marketing director for a shopping mall! LOL. Gotta do the news interviews and tell everyone what the hottest gifts of the year are going to be! Like they have nothing better to report...

My only hope is someone invites me to turkey dinner and sends me home with lots of leftovers!

Last year was hard for me, too. Maybe we can help each other get through the holidays this time around? I'm all for helping others heal the past....

Nothing planned for Halloween yet. I'm thinking I might end up going to a friend's house. He throws a party every year. If not I'll set something up in the yard or on the porch to scare the kids (I know I'm an asshole, but it won't be too bad. Don't want to make anyone cry, just jump a bit )

Don't have anything planned for Thanksgiving, but being a fat guy, you can bet I will eat somewhere

Also nothing planned for Christmas so far except that my work asked me to be the Santa Clause for the kids Christmas party. They keep asking how I will hide my accent. I tried to tell them that when you have an accent as thick as mine, there is no hiding it.

My family has always done that and I had no clue that it was the Norwegian way (we're not even Norwegian). You learn something new every day.

I really need to pay closer attention to the boards. I thought Rokr was the one to change her AV to the rebel flag so I seen this and was like..."WTF is a 15 year old doing getting her own apartment, and why is she offering it to spend Christmas with Cyber?"

Leave me alone. It's early.

I don't have an accent. Everyone else does. I talk normal.

A very thick southern accent. I'm losing it a bit, but will be getting it back when I move back to the south.

It comes out stronger for about 2 weeks every time I go home. People around say they can tell when I go home whether I tell them or not.

So, what time should I be over on Thanksgiving? Should I bring something? Yams? Cookies? Wine? Tranquilizers? LOL
