IE6 fucking sucks. I don't know why, but some people still use it and my Web site really fucks up on IE6. It works great on safari, firefox, opera, IE7+.....but fucking IE6.... http://www.mattjolsen.com
First, the logo in the top left. No matter what I put in the css (yes, I had to make a special css file for IE -6 mostly - for the site to even remotely work), I can't position it. Padding ends up stretching it, but not moving it. Margins do nothing. I've tried every position tag there is but nothing will move it. It probably has to do with it being a transparent PNG. I already had to install a plugin to Joomla! so the logo would show up right in IE. My only option would be to make the logo the exact size of the spot in which it's supposed to fit so it doesn't have to be moved via code.
Other than the logo, the navigational menu at the top fucks up as soon as you click a link and the site kind of "freezes." I have NO IDEA why.
So....can anyone offer any help? I can show you the style sheets, but I don't expect you to go through and code shit. I just didn't know if anyone has encountered this type of crap before.
BTW, IETester is a SWEET app for testing pages.
I'm tempted to say "fuck it" and assume that anyone still using IE6 doesn't deserve to have a good web experience anyways.....but I can't ignore that my site isn't well enough designed to work for everyone. rarrggg ...

I'm going to be graduating soon, so this is a great way for me to have an online portfolio.

I don't have a resume up yet nor do I have any design stuff up, but it's well on it's way I think.
What do you think? Any problems or issues you notice?
thanks gang

in case you are in need of some fake blood for halloween, MAKE YOUR OWN! the stuff you buy at the store stains too easily and usually tastes horrible. plus it doesn't dry and that can be really messy.

Chocolate Blood
I was promised the recipe years ago, but only came across it quite recently. It was worth the wait. The mixture may seem odd, but it tastes pretty good, looks surprisingly like real blood, splatters like real blood, dries like real blood, and had several people asking me if I was really okay after that staged fight....
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
3 or 4 tablespoon corn syrup
1/2 to 1 teaspoon red food coloring
2 drops yellow or green food coloring (optional)
Mix the cocoa powder thoroughly into the water before adding the other ingredients - it may help to use warm water. After adding the rest, blend the concoction well, and then wait for it to settle a bit. Either skim the bubbles & chocolate scum off the top with the edge of a kleenex, or pour the mixture into another container. The longer it sits, the more the cocoa tends to settle to the bottom, which oddly mimicks the effect of real blood seperating.
If you splatter this mixture onto cloth, it makes neat two-part marks which dry into pretty convincing bloodstains. If you let it run from a victim's mouth and then let it dry, the blood darkens and cakes to the skin in much the same way real blood does. I can also say from personal experience that any washcloth used to wipe down the 'bloody' face afterwards looks remarkably realistic, too.

I did this an hardly used any water at all, otherwise it was too thin and a little out of control (but would be good if you needed to get REALLY messy). Also, I used a little more red food coloring. That way it won't run and thin out on fabric.
I made some for my zombie costume for my band's halloween show this Saturday because I can't be dripping fake blood on stage (although that WOULD be badass) and rubbing it on people when I goto the bar for drinks afterwards. Let me tell you, this stuff looks good. If you let it drip, it looks AWESOME. It tastes damn good, too.
I have some of those blood capsules to put in my mouth so I can have a little goreyness on stage.

not the RX-8 at the beginning....
sure it's limited to a 20ยบ F startup operating temperature, and the slow trickle of water from the tailpipe could be a disaster if they do figure a way to make it work in freezing conditions. but it's still 10-20 years away from production. every major auto company in the world has a hydrogen fuel cell development program.....maybe someone will figure it out

my band, Kill the Rabbit, has our first official gig on Aug. 19th. We're pretty excited and have been busy writing and putting together a set. We have 8 originals to play and a cover or two (30-45 minute set). We're opening for 2 other bands, so hopefully there will be a crowd.
FUCKING ROCK
It will be at Fatcat's in Mt. Dora, if anyone is in the area and wishes to attend. Drs @ 9, $5 cover.

outrageous. rabies should be completely controllable and preventable if the damn Chinese gov't was doing their job, instead of worrying about who searches what on the internet.
What it boils down to is this:
In Germany, they blamed and massacred Jews and other minorities for a poor economy, when it was really the gov't's fault.
In China, they blamed and massacred dog...
